The interaction with the elephants offers guests the opportunity to touch the elephants, exchange trunk greetings and offer tasty treats. Experienced Elephant Handlers share their in-depth knowledge of fascinating elephant behaviour. For a memorable hour, guests have the chance to interact with these enormous creatures.

Meet at sunrise at the elephant stables to wake their sleepy souls and prepare them for the day. Enjoy the very special treat of helping brush down the elephants; a wonderful, fulfilling activity. Experience morning exercises and witness the unique relationship the Elephant Handlers enjoy with the elephants. Round off this wonderful experience with hot beverages and delicious muffins whilst relaxing on the deck overlooking the Sabie Valley. A very special start to the day!

In the late afternoon, with a comfortable stable in mind and a good meal waiting, the elephants delight in heading for home. Enjoy this afternoon amble with the elephants; walk with them and become a welcome and privileged member of the Elephant group while they peacefully carry out their evening routine. Complete a magical experience with a sun-downer drink while listening to the sounds of the elephants settling in to sleep.

If you are planning a trip to Mpumalanga the Panorama Route tour is a must!!

The Panorama Route offers a kaleidoscope of breathtaking scenery, natural beauty and African diversity. We visit well known sites on this tour in an air-conditioned vehicle with a qualified guide who has good knowledge of the area. Spectacular views of the Blyde River Canyon, and out over the endless Lowveld beyond will not disappoint. We take guests along the edge of the escarpment to look out points offering magnificent views, including God’s Window, Wonderview and the Three Rondawels. Along the route we visit the famous Bourke’s Luck Potholes – deep cylindrical cavities formed by thousands of years of water erosion at the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers.

At lunchtime the tour will stop in Graskop for guests to enjoy lunch at a restaurant, and, if time permits, browse the many curio stalls and shops in this little village. South of Graskop, where the Sabie River rises there are many beautiful waterfalls which we will visit whilst making our way back to Hazyview.

Learn about the rehabilitation techniques and treatment of injured, poisoned and abandoned animals and birds of prey. An experience not to be missed!

Enjoy the splendour of the world’s third largest Canyon, the Blyde River Canyon, with an interpretive boat tour with a qualified site guide. Take in the sights of the waterfalls and the Three Rondawels, the hippos, the crocodiles and the African Fish eagles. See the rare, living Kadishi Tufa waterfall which is the tallest Tufa waterfall on earth.

An abundance of wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, primates and a diversity of birdlife, will keep you enthralled while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon.
